Red and Blue Chair By Gerrit Rietveld For Cassina.
The ‘Red and Blue Chair’ was designed by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld in 1918 and has been produced by the Italian company Cassina since 1973.
An iconic lounge chair with a black stained beech frame, blue seat and red back in lacquered multi plywood.
The primary colours were added to the design in 1921 in tribute to Mondrian’s paintings.

This chair is in excellent, near perfect vintage condition with minimal signs of previous use.
There is a very small chip to the laquered blue paintwork at the front of the seat, visable in the photographs.
It bears the original manufacturers mark and is stamped number 1399 dating it to 1973.
